They go backstage into the band's dressing room. Ed knocks at the door.
“It’s open,” Jamie said.
Ed bursts through the door with Eddy and Double-D in tow. “Hi, cousin!”
Jamie turned around. “What the-oh my gosh!” He runs towards her and gives her a big hug. “Whoa! You're cutting off my air supply! Let go a little.”
“Okay!”
“Ed, you've changed a lot,” she said. “When was the last time I saw you?”
“Um, I forget,” he said.
“Me too. I've been touring so much, my head is spinning.” She sat down on the couch. “So....I guess those 3 tickets I sent you came in handy, eh? So...who are your friends?”
“Jamie, meet my pals Eddy and Double-D,” Ed said.
“Interesting. What's with the name?” Jamie asked.
“We call Edd ‘Double-D’ because...um...Eddy?” Ed asked.
“We call him "Double-D" because he has 2 D's in his name, Ed.”
“Oh yeah! I forgot!”
“Allow me,” Eddy said as he pushed Ed and Double-D out of the way. He grabbed Jamie’s hand and shook it vigorously.
“So, you’re Eddy, huh?” Jamie asked. Eddy nodded. “My cousin mentioned you a few times. Double-D too. It’s nice to finally meet you guys in person.”
“And it’s always a pleasure to meet you, too,” Eddy said with a smile and a wink.
“Did you guys have fun tonight?” Jamie asked.
“Ten squared!”
“You performed commendably,” Double-D said.
“Oh yeah!” Eddy said.
“Jamie, may I ask you something?” Double-D asked.
“Sure, go ahead,” Jamie said. “I’m all ears.”
“What’s it like to be an international singing sensation at such a young age?”
“It’s really not all bad,” Jamie admitted.
“All I have to say is. what a life to lead...crazy people banging down your door; you're alone, helpless; nowhere to turn, nowhere to hide. Do you ever get sick of it?”
“Nah, it’s not like that. I enjoy every minute of it. You get used to it, you know? In fact, I don't see why the girls haven't broken down your door yet, and-”
“Tell me about it,” Eddy interrupted. “I know the feeling. Well, when you're a handsome stud-muffin like me-“
“I wasn't talking to you, Eddy. I was talking to Double-D,” Jamie interrupted.
“Oh sure....single him out. We all know that I'm the most mature looking of the trio.”
Double-D winced in pain. “Are you okay?” she asked.
“I have a headache, that’s all,” he said weakly.
“You poor thing. I'll have someone get you something to take care of that headache of yours...can you take aspirin?” Double-D nodded. “Good. I'll have someone get you some aspirin. Don't worry; you'll be alright in no time!”
“See? What'd I tell ya?” Eddy asked.
“I dunno. What did you tell me, Eddy?” Ed asked.
“Nothing, Ed.”
“Well, why did you ask me?”
“I wasn't asking you!”
“I'm confused.”
“What else is new?”
“Listen, we're all going out to celebrate You guys wanna come?” Jamie asked.
“Gravy! I'm hungry!”
“Alright,” Double-D said.
“You know it!” Eddy said.
“Alright then,” Jamie said. “Let’s go!”
They left the dressing room and went to a nearby diner to have a snack.
