One hot
summer day, the Eds were sitting outside Eddy's house doing nothing...well,
they were talking, so I guess that's "something". The kids were
nowhere to be found, and the cul-de-sac was quiet.
“This stinks!” Eddy complained. “There are no kids to scam! Where are they?”
Double-D sighed. “Where would you expect them to be, Eddy? They're all at Kevin's
house watching some concert and having a big party...that we weren't
invited to, as per usual.”
“They're probably watching The Superstars concert. Man, I really wanted to go, too!”
Eddy lamented.
“Be patient, Eddy. There has to be something we can all do.”
“Anyone have a Tic-Tac?” Ed asked.
Eddy sighed. “Tell me Ed, is everyone in your family as dim as you are?”
Ed thought it over. “Um...I don't think so. My mom said that my cousin was pretty
smart.”
“Really?” Double-D asked.
“Oh, yeah!” Ed said proudly. “Last time I talked to her, she was the singer in a band.”
Eddy got really interested. “Really? What's her name?”
“Um, it’s Jamie. Jamie Matthews.”
“No way!” Eddy said. "You're telling me your cousin Jamie is the lead singer of The
Superstars?” Ed nodded. “How long have you been holding out on me, Lumpy?”
“Hmm…Ed’s cousin is a famous singer. Who would have thought?” Double-D
wondered.
“Hang on, my brain is trying to tell me something!” Ed said. “Oh oh! She sent me 3
tickets & 3 backstage passes for a concert tonight! But I don't know who else
to bring with me though.”
Eddy rolled his eyes. “Like that’s going to be a tough decision, Ed.”
“Potatoes!” Ed said.
“What are we waiting for?” Eddy said ecstatically. “Let’s go!”
“Eddy! You know how I feel about loud music! It’s not very good for the thinking
process,” whined Double-D.
“And neither is going into Ed’s room. Come on!”
